Talisman Mantis PDF Print E-mail

The bow is of a pivoted design and if you look at where the bow joins the stock you will see two connecting rod's that are pivoted to the each limb these rod,s upon drawing the bowstring compresses a specially designed and made set of incredibly powerful springs that can store over 4.000 lbs per square inch.As you squeeze the trigger the energy stored in the springs is transfered to the bow and the string, so shooting the bolt at incredibly high velocity even with arrow of 600 grain and more

Are you sure this classes as a crossbow ? since the limbs are replaced with fixed arms, and the energy is generated and stored within springs I would suggest that most states wouldnt concider this a crossbow; so advertising it as such is false.

why would you delete my comment ? you have something to hide ?
you really should prove that the mantis is hunting legal before marketing it as such.

pa dnr says mantis is legal to hunt with as long as limbs do not excede 200lbs.This sets a presedent in law for other dnr from different states to follow.

The Mantis is sold as a target bow it is up to the purchaser to contact there local dnr to see if they can use it for hunting so far not one dnr has rejected the mantis as long as it follows there limb and safety regs.

the mantis transfers the energywave power thru the limbs to the string .
The limbs do flex in cocked position, it would not work with out a limbs and string just like any other crossbow on the market.the limbs do have a 200lb on high and 150 on low, hope this answers your concerns.
you may post a questions to phil himself at the talkin talisman forum he answers all questions every day.ed

check your home state dnr regs under crossbow regs
You may be surprised, The mantis is a crossbow, and it does follow dnr regs to limbs and a safety. The energywave power has no more of a advantage then a cams and cable compound , just more energy wise...The limbs do flex in cocked position and power is transfered thru the limbs to the string to propel the arrow just like any other bow.The safety is engaged each and every time automaticly when the bow is cocked.

We recomend you contact your local dnr and have them see the mantis online before you purchase for hunting,The Mantis is sold as a target bow,Here at talisman we will do our very best to comply to dnr regs
Your local dnr is the final word as to, is it is legal to hunt with,? not us at talisman crossbows.

The weapon is most certainly a crossbow as it function,s exactly the same as a normal crossbow,it has a bow that work in conjunction with spring's and a bow is a spring. All crossbows are powered by spring's as all bows are spring's.And all spring's store energy by flexing regardless of their shape. So we are not misleading anyone,Phil Abrahams.

So far in NJ they don't have a crossbow season unless you have a Doctor write a letter saying you can not pull back a bow for some reason.
