Re:UPDATE PLease 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 5
Well, having got the compression mechanism all worked out after fully researching every possibility available for the ideal working's of the lever tomorrow i will start to make the mechanism and lever to try out as the new limb pattern's should be ready by the end of the coming week i thought i could have this all worked out to test as well.Within two to three month's we will be there with all this as now everything should work out perfect for production to start very soon. The bullet shooting capability will appeal to airgun shooter's that are limited to 12 ft lbs [should be 30 ft lbs for shooter's over 20 year's old]as with these bullet's we should easily top 100 plus ft lbs and no need for an FAC {firearm's certificate}.This will make the new crossbow a wicked weapon that can also shoot inexpensive ammo. Now no need to worry about losing expensive bolt's when shooting at target's that may mean a lost arrow or bolt.Great for larger vermin and small game too espesially with say an aftershock broadhead fitted to a 500 grn micro bolt/bullet.These bullet's will spin just like a rifle round due to the design of the shaft with a fluted spiral design. The new lever cocking mechanism will make this crossbow quicker to reload so this will be very useful.I got confidence in the pattern maker as he is very confident that it can all be made to spec.We will know the absolute price as soon as we get it all made but i am hoping for it to be well within everyone's reach and i am confident that it will be .As soon as we get the ok following G Plant and Boss Man's positive feedback then we can start making them Wally and Ivan plus Mirko from CROSSBOW REVIEW will get one to put through it's paces.

Yes you are absolutely right there,Greg it's a lovely pattern with so much depth. We will have to get this onto the Mantis for those that would really want this including myself .And yes those bullet's will be great for bird shot's and tree rat's,they will not fly off after being shot with a hollow tip or flat tip bullet. If the accuracy with these is as good as an arrow then it will be an excellent choice for tough small to medium quarry a bit like a 22 rimfire but with more hitting power than a subsonic 22 rifle round [80 ft lbs],and with the new refined and improved loading mechanism it will be incredible. On the bullet rail you will have a bolt loader that's just like on a hunting rifle. To load a bullet all you do is push the bolt lever forward, this uncover's a bullet loading slot to insert the bullet then push down the spring loaded button on the lever as this will load the bullet right into the string claw and retaining spring and away you go.The bullet rail can be fitted or removed in a minute or two. This can be an optional extra or maybe fully inclusive,i think most crossbow user's would probably like it as an extra as not all will be into shooting these bullet's,we will just have to see after getting feedback on this. This will also keep the cost down and the rail can be purchased at a later date if it's needed.Well i have nearly got the new cocking lever mechanism finnished and should also be picking up the new pattern's to cast up for this coming weekend, tomorrow i will get some milling done on the mechanism main part for the pivoting compression rod,and make and fit the internal bearing's into the prototype crossbow housing, when we get it all cast it will all be cast with these extra bearing housing's for the mechanism and drilled out to fit bushes for a very long trouble free life. All the part's will be solidly made and from lightweight strong alloy and using large diameter pin's and shaft to resist any shearing or fatigue, cant stand thing's that break and let you down they ruin your day big time so we will make it to be extremely strong and reliable using very high quality material's and made to absolute precision.Should all add up to something really worth having .

Called in to the pattern maker on friday and he has made a start on the pattern's but due to a rush job that has to be completed asap he will have the pattern's ready in a week, meanwhile i have been making all the other part's ready to fit when ready, within three to four day's.Mike the foundry owner also travelled up to Scotland the weekend so i would have been unable to get them cast like i hoped, bit of a pain but i am very optimistic as i know we will be there soon .Wish i knew how to make pattern's as they would be all done by now.I am sure we will be all done and dusted well before the coming hunting season and i feel that before summer is here we will be sending G.Plant and Boss Man their's to go and show to everyone and get some feedback as to what they really think so then we know exactly what's just near perfect, all i can do now is hold on until the pattern's are finnished and then we can move on.Just like to say a very big thank you to all you guy's out there for being patient, dont worry i will not let you down as i got everything in order as to what exactly need's doing and i am on the case BIG TIME,anyway take care all and hopefully these new pattern's will be just perfect, first time.

The new mechanism and lever are nearly completed.I have been taking my time to ensure everything is just perfect,as i don't want to ruin the prototype so i have had to work around this to ensure it's all just right. When we get the pattern's made for the pre production Mantis all this will make it a lot easier as it can be simplified, should have the new limb's to fit on in a week or two, then we will really be on the way.Meanwhile i have also arranged to meet up with a guy from a top archery company to get the string's made and he also want's to see and try out the prototype on the indoor shooting range,i will also be taking a crossbow string sample to get costed in variouse material's.Today i am off to the engineer's supplie's to purchase some stainless steel round bar to complete the lever cocking mechanism over this weekend all ready for when we get the limb's,hope the weather pick's up as we have had a lot of rain here.I will take the crossbow camping as soon as i get it all fitted up to test out,and also get the limb's stress tested, then get all the other pattern's made.It will take a while but it will be awesome when all finished and of course camo'd.I cannot wait for this and we will have a crossbow that is well worth all the waiting for .How is the weather in the USA i hope it's better than here, before i forget i will upload picture's of these new limb's and lever mechanism all fitted up and show you all exactly how it all work's that will be quite soon.To get it all completed quicker i may also get another pattern maker working on it to speed thing's up,so dont worry one way or another it will all be there well before next hunting season,no worrie's guy's,speak to you all soon, take care.

Hey, Whats up, Just got back from my fishing trip. It sucked!!!! 5 days of wind wind wind. Got out the one day and got 9 Walleyes. We went just about 5 miles out a couple hours later I felt something that was like a earthquake, It was the ice separating. We didn't know what was going on until we where leaving. The wind started to blow again and filled the separation with snow and we almost went in. I dont know how many people, trucks and snowmobiles went in but I was Thanking God it wasn't us!!!We went as fast as we could go and jumped the crack. LUCKY!!!!! Well 6 lives 2 4-wheelers and 3 snowmobiles and a couple thousand dollars worth of ice fishing gear is not worth a fish!!!! I'll stick to the river where I know its Safe!!!
Everything sounds like its coming together Phil. Now as far as photo dipping Camo, One of our Team Members(Mossy Oak) owns a Photo Dipping company and will give me a discount on anything we want done. If you would like to check out his work Phil send a set of limbs and or any other parts, when they are complete and I'll have them dipped and send them back for your approval.I dont think we can get it done anywhere cheaper and a first rate job.If all works out maybe we could use them in the future as our Dipping Company.Let me know what you think.
If the bow is done buy summer I can take it to IBO,ASA and MTT shoots for folks to check out. I also will be doing shows with Mossy Oak all summer.
I talk to y'all soon.
Greg
